Fishing
- This part of Scotland is famed for its sporting pursuits.
Fishing is available locally on the Rivers North and South
Esk with loch fishing on Rescobie,and sea fishing from Arbroath.

Golf
- There are numerous golf courses in the area, Forfar, Letham
Grange, Brechin, Montrose, Edzell, Kirriemuir, to name a few.
A twenty minute drive takes you to the famous Carnoustie championship
course or forty five minutes over the Tay road bridge to the
world famous course at St. Andrews.

Touring
- Being centrally situated, West Mains of Turin is the ideal
base for touring the stunning coast line offering a variety
of walks along sandy beaches or cliffs and the Angus glens
where popular activities include hillwalking, climbing and
pony trekking. Pictavia centre at Brechin Castle Garden Centre,
Standing stones at Aberlemno and the ancient Priory at Restenneth
are a short distance away, while the ruins of Kemps' Castle
Fort are situated on the family land overlooking the farm
buildings. Braemar (Royal Deeside), picturesque Perthshire,
Aberdeen and Edinburgh are all within easy touring distance.

Historic
Houses - Numerous houses and castles are to be found in the
area.- Glamis Castle which was the childhood home of the Queen
Mother, Edzell Castle, Scone Palace, House of Dun, Fasque
House, National Trust properties, are among some of the interesting
historic houses nearby.

Out - Excellent restaurants, pubs and hotels nearby in Forfar,
